Selling a used car

When selling a used car there are several factors to be considered. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

How to sell the car?

There are so many methods these days for the prospective seller to use. The use of modern technology and the internet makes it quick and easy to search dealers for the best price when trading it in or making a quick advertisement on a website such as Ebay, Gumtree or Facebook. Of course there is still the old fashioned way as well, which entails sticking a home made poster in the car’s back window, hoping someone eventually calls.

What is the right price?

The typical seller wants to make as much money as he can for his car. The typical buyer wants to grab a bargain. A car owner will always have at least some idea of how much his car is worth. However, when selling it’s still a good idea to look around to find out the going rate for cars of the same age, make, model and condition. Going in at a slightly lower price than competitors is recommended to spark interest, although the seller should be wary about going too lower as his prospective buyer may wonder what the catch is.
